Nausicaa -  Boulogne sur mer
This French National Sea Experience Centre is an international landmark which enables visitors to dive into the different oceans of the world without getting wet! Come nose to nose with sharks, watch the sea lions'ballet, and marvel at the colours of the coral reefs.

Boulogne-sur-mer
is still France's first fishing port. The fortified old town still contains its original city wall, a basilica and a château museum. The National Sea Discovery Centre (Nausicaa) , is situated on the quayside, where you can stroll along and watch the stalholders selling an amazing variety of fresh fish.

Come and discover our charming seaside villages such as Wissant (white sand), Audreselles, Ambleteuse, Wimereux, Le Portel-plage, Equihen Plage , Le Touquet Paris Plage,   ... where you can enjoy the fine sandy beaches, sparkling waters and imposing cliffs.

Le Cap Gris-Nez - Audinghen
The cliffs of the Cap are the closest point of France to England - 34 km (20 miles) from their English counterparts at Dover. Smothered in sea pinks and thrift, the cliffs are a perfect vantage point to see hundreds of ships from oil tankers to little fishing trawlers plying the waters below. On a clear day, the emblematic white cliffs of Dover on the English shore can be seen. Cap Gris Nez (height 45 m.) is a well-known migration hot-spot and sea watching site.

Maison de la Faïence - Desvres.
The small market town of Desvres has been renowned for its ceramics, since 1764 (Faïence, pottery and porcelain). The museum uses a modern and interesting approach to learning about the history and manufacture of all types of ceramics, and is suited to all age groups.

Le Fort d'Ambleteuse
The last sea fort between Cherbourg and the Belgian border and built by Vauban in 1690. Re-armed and restored by Napoleon during the Boulogne encampment and used by the Germans during WWI.

Colonne de la Grande Armée - Wimille
It was decided to erect the column in 1804, shortly after the ceremony at which Napoleon bestowed the Légion d'honneur for the second time, on the site of the Boulogne camp. A monumental work by the architects Labarre and Henri, the column of local Marquise marble supports the statue of the Emperor in military dress at a height of some 50 metres.

Mur de l'Atlantique - Audinghen
The museum is situated in a Second World War blockhouse (Batterie Todt) which once housed a 380mm gun directed at allied shipping and Kent. Amonst the exhibits of uniforms and wartime relics (weapons, military equipment, vehicles,...) shown here there is a huge 280mm K5 gun. Made by Krupps in 1941, its barrel is 35 metres long, and it was used to shell the coastal towns of Kent.

Musée historique de la 2nde guerre mondiale - Ambleteuse
Thousands of original artefacts and over 100 models recreate the period from the Polish campaign to the Japanese surrender. Visitors can also watch a film about D-Day and the Battle of Normandy in a 1940s cinema.

Musée du Marbre et de la géologie - Rinxent
At the "Maison du Marbre" you'll discover not only how they quarried and shaped the stone in the days of hand tools before explosives and giant excavators. You'll learn about the story of 300 million years of geology - how this "marble", through very hard-wearing and decorative, is really a hardened form of chalk. You'll see examples of what craftsmen and artists have made with this special rock. Fossils found by quarry workers help you piece together clues to how different the environment was when this rock was formed - when Rinxent echoed to the roar of volcanoes and dinosaurs ... .

Musée de la Marine - Etaples sur Mer
The Maritime Museum is a wealth of treasures relating to the lives, activities and fishing techniques of men and women in Etaples sur Mer through time.

Mareïs - Etaples sur Mer
An exciting hands on approach to the lives of fishermen and land and at sea. From the dockside to the bridge of a trawler, through aquariums of  North sea fish, to the virtual helm of a rescue boat, an informative, fun display.!


Village Saint Joseph - Guines.

La tour de l'Horloge - Guines

The Lake at Ardres .
Walk across the fields or through the forest, enjoy nautical activities on the Lac d’Ardres, laze by our fishing waters and sip a « diabolo menthe » in one of our popular brasseries, discover the local flora and fauna, have fun in our play parks, enjoy our local history …..plenty of activities for the whole family….The lake at Ardres has a good sized lake with pedalos and rowing boats, where a leisure centre provides sailing, canoeing and mountain biking. A little corner is Eurolac, a mini lake reserved for children who can captain their own mini steamers and tug boats. They sit inside (with mum or dad if they are under nine) and they can navigate the boat themselves.

Forteresse de Mimoyecques - Landrethun le Nord
This vast underground site for the V3 rocket is now a museum. Discover how the Germans planned to destroy London with the flying bomb, only for the site to be bombed in July 1944. Thousand of workers lost their lives. As the inside is cold, please wear warm clothes.

The Fine Art and Lace Museum - Calais.
The series of rooms in this museum tell the story of Calais's past, including its
famous industry of lace-making, with beautiful examples of lacework and how it
is used in clothing and the fashion industry. There are collections of paintings
by the Flemish and Dutch schools, as well as an exhibition illustrating the
development of sculpture from the 19th century to the present, with works by
Rodin, Derain and Picasso.

Calais Lighthouse - Calais
Calais lighthouse is 51 m high. Those who are brave enough to climb its 271 steps, will be rewarded by a magnificent view over Calais, the port and countryside around.

Musée de la seconde guerre - Calais
Situated in a bunker, which was once command post to the German Navy, the museum houses 20 rooms full of artefacts, uniforms and weaponry tracing the history of Calais and the surrounding area, from the battle of 1940 to the Liberation in 1944.

Musée du transmanche - Escalles
The Transmanche Museum tells the stories of many projects to cross the channel by air, underground, across the sea, underwater.... including many “crazy crossings” and the brave efforts of marathon swimmers to swim across the swift currents of the narrow straits.

Le Cap blanc nez - Escalles
Cap Blanc Nez (literally "Cape White Nose" in English) was a cape on the Côte d'Opale.. The cliffs of chalk are very similar to the white cliffs of Dover at the other side of the Channel in England. Cap Blanc Nez is no longer a cape but a cliff  (height 134 m.) that is topped by an obelisk commemorating the Dover Patrol which kept the Channel free from U-boats during World War I. From this height and with clear skies you will see before you an inspiring view of the English coast across the Channel, and the magnificient bay of Wissant which stretches to the rocks of Cap-Gris-Nez.

Les cerfs de Fiennes
Roch Ducrocq welcomes you from April 15 to Septemebr 15in his breeding and invites you to discover the stags of Fiennes which evolve in semi-freedom in a wooded park of several hectares in the middle of the countryside of the Three Countries, Guines, Licques and Hardinghen. You will be able to taste our products containing stags (pot, carbonade, etc ...) and will have the possibility of ordening them.

L'escargotière du Saint Martin Choquel
Installed in Saint Martin Choquel in the "Boulonnais area", in the Earthenware country, the helicicole farm raises gray large snails. The season of breeding starts in March with the reproduction, in May the spat "are released" in the external parks to be collected in October to cook them. You can buy our products direct in the farm, during gastronomical show, and in selected stores.

L'Atelier du bois à Bellebrune
The creation of the "Atelier du bois" represents the realization of three passions : the artistry of woodworking, the love of antiques and wooden toys/games, and the desire to inspire this passion in others.

Calais
is France's premier passenger port and is near the French terminus of the Channel Tunnel. The city is famous for its lace and embroideries. The town centre is dominated by its distinctive cityhall, built in the Flemish Renaissance style. Directly in front of the town hall is a cast of the statue "The Burghers of Calais", by Auguste Rodin.


The Audomarois Marshes
The Audomarois marshes are today the only remaining cultivated wetlands in France, with around forty market gardeners working 440 hectares of land. Although it produces fifty different vegetables, it is particularly well known for its delicious cauliflowers (5 million heads grown per year) and succulent endives. Whether on foot, or horseback, by bike or boat, the marshes are accessible to everybody. There are all sorts of leisure activities, trails, guided tours, guided marshes cruises and walks to be enjoyed, with or without a guide. It is however a fragile environment that must be respected. It has an abundance of plant and wildlife within a marvellous ecosystem : 300 species of plants and 210 species of birds observed in the last 20 years !

Le Blockhaus d'Eperlecques
Located at the edge of the Eperlecques forest, this enormous edifice containing 360,000 tonnes of materials, standing 22 meters high and covering 1 hectare, represents a real technical feat of engineering. It was to house the first launching base for the V2 rockets, aimed at London and Antwerp during World War II (1939-1945). When the construction of the bunker was set back by the British air strikes in August 1943, it was decided to transform the edifice into a plant for manufacturing the liquid oxygen needed to power the engines of the V2 rockets.

Saint-Omer
The market town of St. Omer grew out of the surrounding marshlands in the 7th century, when monks started building a network of waterways so they could farm the land. The Notre Dame Cathedral in St.-Omer is recognised as the most beautiful Gotic monument in north France. Don’t miss the magnificent Rubens, the astrological clock and the tomb of St. Erkembode. Together with the « Musée Sandelin » and the « ruins of Saint-Bertin’s abbey, they form part of the city’s large historical scene.

La Coupole - Lumbres.
The atmosphere strikes you right from the moment you enter this strange underground town, befitting of Fritz Lang's Metropolis. Built in only 10 months (from October 1943 to July 1944) by the Organization Todt, the purpose of the Coupole was to destroy the centre of London using the V2 rocket, Hitler's secret weapon. The Coupole is today the home of the history and Remembrance Centre for the Nord-Pas de Calais. Visitors can discover there some of the lesser-known aspects of the Second World War, the occupation of France between 1940 and 1944 and the conquest of space.

Arc International - Arques
Discover the magic art of glassmaking with Arc International, world leader in tableware and a veritable town within the town, employing 19,000 people. Accompanied by a guide, the tour is punctuated with audiovisual documents explaining how this major international group operates and the secrets of glass-making. A truly unforgettable visit!

The Fontinettes boatlift
- Arques
Enable 300 barges to cross a 13 meter difference in level between the Aa and Lys canal pools”, this was the feat of engineering achieved in 1887 with a revolutionary ship lift. This unique example in France, based on an English design, was in operation until 1967.

Le Train Touristique - Lumbres
This old "Picasso" train runs through the valley of the river Aa between Arques and Lumbres and stopping at numerous points along the way including Wizernes (for La Coupole), Esquesrdes (for the Paper Museum) and Setques (for walkers).

La Maison du papier - Esquerdes
The history of paper from its invention in China to its arrival in Europe. A modern museum in an old water mill. Make your own sheet of paper to take away !

Persyn Distillery in Houle (Fine genievre)
Juniper gin, or genièvre, a careful blend of germinated rye, oats and barley, flavoured with juniper berries (hence its name), contains all the scents of the northern French countryside. The genièvre distilled in Houlle is classed as one of the best and is acclaimed by all gourmets. Founded in 1812, the genièvre distillery is one of the last two still in existence in France. The Persyn family, who have been operating it since 1944, invite you to discover how this traditional Flemish spirit is made.

There are frequent Channel crossings between Kent and Nord-Pas de Calais. P&O Ferries and SeaFrance operate ferries on the Calais-Dover route where you can travel with your car or as a foot passenger, and Norfolkline runs a ferry service exclusive to motorists from Dunkerque to Dover. There are also two ways to use the Channel Tunnel, one of the engineering marvels of the 20th century.
Eurostar the high speed rail link from Paris, Brussels, Lille, Frethun (Calais)  and Disneyland Paris to London and Ashford in Kent.
Eurotunnel Shuttle the car shuttle from Coquelles, near Calais, to Folkestone in Kent. Le Shuttle also carries bicyles and coaches.
